Foreign Language Institute held the opening ceremony of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Translation Studio.
The Foreign Languages Institute decided to set up a translation studio to enhance the practical ability of foreign language students' professional knowledge, enhance their practical experience in translation and market competitiveness, and lay a professional foundation for innovation, entrepreneurship and postgraduate employment.
On the evening of October 15, the Foreign Languages Institute held the formal establishment ceremony of the translation studio in conference room 5225. Yuqing Sun, head of the translation studio, hosted this event. The deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Foreign Languages Institute, Dan Jiao, the director of the School of Education, Zhang Dongxia Zhang, the deputy director Xinxin Wang, and all members of the translation studio participated in the event.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the head of the translation studio technical department, Chaoyang Shan, detailed the translation studio's articles of association, including the general principles, organizational structure and responsibilities of the translation studio, the assessment system, the rights and obligations of members, the development direction and the supplementary rules. Then，Ms. Sun(Yuqing Sun) led all members of the translation studio to swear and showed their willingness to make progress together and fulfill their duties.
Next, Ms. Dan(Jiao Dan) gave her speech to remind everyone the initial intention of opening a translation studio. She urged people to stick to their original intention and to follow the excellent style of the hard work of the Foreign Languages Institute. She hoped that everyone would not forget their original intentions and aspirations, no matter how hard they worked, they should work hard to develop a good translation studio, and hoped that the students would continue to improve their professional translation skills in their studies, obey the professional ethics of the translators and be responsible for their work. She also praised the work experience of some members of the recent translation studio, and encouraged them to actively exchange practical feelings and seek practical opportunities. She also urged that everyone would cherish every opportunity to learn and practice, actively participate, study hard, and strive to do a good job in the studio.
At the end of the meeting, she introduced the support unit of translation studio and the excellent expert guidance team of translation studio. After the meeting, the translation studio conducted the first member examination to gain an in-depth understanding of the translation skills of the students.
The formal establishment of the translation studio provides students with a translation practice platform, which provides more opportunities for students of foreign language colleges to exercise and improve.
